In this artist’s conception of this crucial biological moment of human reproduction, we can see ourselves as if living our daily lives. Our many decisions, often thousands of small and large choices and dilemmas, as responses to environmental and behavioral stimuli, can be accurately analogized by this image. I see many behaviors in motion in this crucial biologic moment that are eerily similar to the formation of a life bearing planet in a solar system. Imagine; That's your troubled relationship on your left and that's your banks' loan manager to the right of you. Or that's you at center also making choices and constantly facing dilemmas and bombardment by biologic seeds.
The sperm and the egg they seek to collide and penetrate into are portraying the attempt toward fulfillment of our human biologic purpose for living. Each of these behaviors we all emulate in our daily lives. Our struggle and our joy in our pursuit of fulfillment toward this goal is inescapable, as the drive to achieve reproduction is programmed and ancient and cannot be eliminated from our lives.
It is an attraction as similar as gravity in a disk shaped newly forming solar system. Here in this human biology it is both chemical and gravitational. Those elements in space adhere to each other by accretion because of both their shape and their elemental similarities. The mechanisms in use by both the sperm and the egg are adaptations that are using a very similar methodology. I consider it likely that we humans evolved to this methodology because it was already here.
That purpose of the planetary bodies and that purpose of our lives is not always concluded with a new planet or a new human or any new life. But as thinking beings we can substitute this primary purpose by creating a legacy of our lives, to carry-on and to propagate ourselves in many other ways.
The raw elements in outer space do not have a controllable choice, but we people do. We strive to procreate like the image above is demonstrating, during life before we die, but if not then after death we transform and disperse our energy throughout the planet and so into our solar system and our galaxy and the universe.
I find that it is true that we really only have a biological purpose in life and the identity of that purpose has been the great question we have lacked the data for to allow us formulate an answer within reason until recently, because we sought further control of the limitations we have learned and we looked further and we looked deeper and were all building upon the knowledge and the ignorance of our past. The answer is approaching our grasp and it is not so complex as you may think.
The purpose of life is to drive us to relieve the burden of fulfillment of meaning and the purpose for finding that meaning and vise versa. Sounds tricky, does it not?
That this is really about what we don't want, the burden which motivates our search, should have been our first clue to the answer long ago when the many hundreds of great writing thinkers through our many eras on Earth first pondered this great question. But we cherish them all because without their quest we would not be peering into our DNA and we would not be looking for the origins of our universe and we would not be locating and exploring the mechanisms of time itself.
On Earth and in this galaxy and those beyond, that purpose is an important and strong genetic trait that drives all animal life. Although we think and have the ability to resist these traits, the egocentric human animals are not exempt from this strong genetic trait. We can attempt to ignore them and the complexities that come along with them, like that bank manager or accept and fully bring them into our thinking lives as part of the flow that goes toward finding the meaning by these actions in purpose.
I feel confident in saying that it comes from particular gene sequences that are deeply ingrained as they are very ancient and they may not have been born only from this beautiful planetary body called Earth. We often refer to the clear signs of this biologic trait as “primal instincts.” The trait dominantly (i.e. 50.0001% of the time) results in behaviors whose effects are favored. Then are coded by our Messenger RNA, to be carried with us to motivate us to propagate ourselves as their all important and final purpose. The purpose is a burden of the biological and the psychological as both a reaction and an adaptation to their existence within us that can not be ignored.
In DNA speak these are called Hox Genes. A sequence so permanent and vital to our lives that our bodies would not form without them. And so humans conduct behavior by actions we take in response to our environment, which are productive to our purpose, motivated by our genetic structure.
